In January 1986, a group of 20 members met in Huber Heights
and agreed to
establish Greater Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. The group
began meeting in the Greater Dayton Association of Baptist Building at 2050
Brandt Pike. Their vision was to create a church to serve Huber Heights, Forest
Ridge, Fairborn, and the surrounding communities. From its inception, Greater
Galilee sought to reach the cynical, the unsaved and the confused with the power
of God's amazing grace. They sought to create a "user friendly" atmosphere so
that those that were accustomed to attending church would feel at home.
The small congregation grew steadily during the first five
years. The gift to Greater Galilee came in December 1990, when the congregation
moved into their current location at 1001 Beatrice Drive in Riverside, Ohio.
These new facilities have allow us to extend our services to the communities and
needy families.
